SPEAKING

"What barriers have you faced as a female in a male domain?"
I used to joke that maintaining focus amid a sea of short shorts, glistening biceps and the heady aroma of testosterone, sweat and liniment was the toughest part of the job.

On countless occasions, the "barriers" of being a female in a male domain would be reduced to remarks about whether or not I was allowed to date the players or how I could concentrate in such close proximity to buff athletes.

Thankfully, the conversation has shifted up a gear as people genuinely want to know, why is it that more females aren't goal umpires ... or CEOs?

Question, challenge, inspire
As a journalist, I am driven to engage through story, drawing on research and evidence to generate answers to these questions. Combining my insights with an examination of data and world's best practice, we delve beneath the rhetoric of the barriers to diversity and get to the source of why strategies succeed or fail.

My sessions are tailored to suit organisational aims and can take the form of workshops, Q&As, keynote presentations or project collaborations. They are designed to promote strategic buy-in through conversations that challenge thinking and inspire ideas.

Who I work with
Harnessing personal influence is a cornerstone of my message, from corporate to community, boardrooms to basketball courts, and a key to establishing environments where people from all backgrounds are able to thrive.

I have connected with corporations, sporting organisations, schools, and networking groups to transform the challenges of diversity and inclusion into drivers of performance.

My personal narrative provides a launchpad for exploring the nuances that create roadblocks to personal and organisational goals. An emphasis on quality discussion and reflection unearths the true nature of the environment and identifies how to move through these roadblocks.
